I studied the texture and composition of olivine, clinopyroxene and plagioclase microlites in the mesostasis of basaltic melts erupted at Piton de la Fournaise volcano (Réunion, France).
My results show that the microlites are imprints of contrasting magma dynamics in a magma chamber and in the conduit prior to their eruption at the surface.
